ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY Canadian Base Operators’ Meaford’s team is growing! The Handyperson is located in Meaford, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Structure Supervisor. Their primary focus is to provide support and assistance to the Structure Supervisor. COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND PERKS • Hourly wage - $22.50-$24.00 • Company supplied tools • Regular daytime hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm • Company pension program • Company paid health & dental • Employee referral program • Starting with three (3) weeks of paid vacation • Paid personal days • Employer-paid training and development Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Understands the correct use, safety and maintenance of hand and power tools related to this type of work. • Orders materials required for individual tasks • Constructs, issues and receives target inventory • Repairs and replaces targets • Major building elements • Membrane and shingle roof systems • Window, door, and related hardware • Lock sets and cuts keys • Various floor coverings • Bathroom partitions and hardware • Wall coverings and painted surfaces • Performs other tasks assigned COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS • Communicates Effectively • Teamwork and Collaboration • Values and Respects Others EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma or equivalent The following certifications/designations are considered an asset • Confined Space • Working at Heights • Journeyperson Carpenter SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge and understanding of: • Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction. • Ability to lift 50 lbs. capability • Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance. The Handyperson provides support to the Structure Supervisor by performing maintenance, repairs, and construction tasks on building elements. Responsibilities include managing target inventory, repairing roof systems, and maintaining various building hardware and surfaces.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate proficiency with hand and power tools. The role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs and the capacity to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance.
