Location: Toronto or Ottawa Why is this role important? Governance and Strategy strengthens enterprise alignment, decision-making and accountability by connecting CIHI’s governance, strategy, planning, performance and risk management practices. Reporting to the Program Lead, Governance and Strategy, the Governance and Strategy Specialist provides strategic, analytical and operational expertise across the Governance and Strategy portfolio. Depending on assigned responsibilities, this may include corporate governance and policy management, strategy development, integrated planning and reporting, corporate performance measurement, strategic risk and compliance, funder accountability reporting, and secretariat support to senior management, executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The Specialist leads the delivery, day-to-day management and continuous improvement of assigned corporate processes and products. This includes conducting research and analysis, developing advice and recommendations, coordinating cross-functional work, preparing high-quality governance and decision-support materials, and supporting the implementation of enterprise priorities. Working in a matrix environment, the Specialist builds effective relationships with leaders and teams across CIHI. The role translates complex information into clear insights, strengthens organizational practices and helps ensure that governance and strategy processes are focused on enabling effective execution of CIHI’s mandate. What you'll do 1. Provide reporting and coordination activities related to Governance and Strategy programs, including the development of production timelines, communications, and documentation such as briefing notes, reports, presentations, dashboards, and related materials for senior internal and external audiences (e.g., Board of Directors, Health Canada). 2. Provide updates and renewals of key governance and strategy products and programs of work to support corporate planning and reporting activities; Programs include corporate planning and performance measurement, strategic and fraud risk management, funding agreement management, and internal audit support. 3. Act as a subject matter expert for assigned governance and strategy products and programs by providing advice, guidance, and interpretation to internal stakeholders (e.g., annual planning processes). 4. Conduct research and analysis and provide recommendations for new governance and strategy products and programs, and advise on enhancements or changes to existing tools, templates, and processes. 5. Provide project coordination for governance and strategy–led initiatives, including developing project plans with milestones and timelines, tracking progress, identifying risks and issues, adjusting plans as required, and advising governance and strategy leadership on status and outcomes. 6. Support the Corporate Secretariat of the CIHI Board of Directors by planning Board-related activities and materials, and conducting research and analysis to develop briefing notes, Board member nominations and elections documentation, and the maintenance of official governance records. 7. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders through participation in project teams, committees, and working groups to gather, coordinate, and synthesize corporate information, and promote governance and strategy products and tools as appropriate. 8. Design and maintain governance and strategy file systems and internal and external web content, collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with best practices and corporate guidelines. 9. Provide guidance to administrative support staff related to secretariat functions for CIHI’s Executive and/or Senior Management Committees, including the development of meeting materials and oversight of post-meeting deliverables such as minutes and action item tracking. What you'll bring to the table • Undergraduate degree Health Administration, Business Administration, Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. • 3-5 years' experience supporting a Board of Directors or senior executive-level committees, and experience in project coordination with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt effectively in a continuously evolving environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and audience-appropriate materials for senior management and Board-level audiences. • Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills to support effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration. • Proficiency with office productivity and information management tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Additional Requirements • Must comply with all CIHI workplace policies, including privacy and confidentiality. • Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.

Exigences
Requires an undergraduate degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related field with 3-5 years of experience supporting senior executives or Boards. Candidates must possess strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills along with proficiency in office productivity tools.
