As an Accounting Student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments in one of the following areas: Accounts Payable, Vendor & Joint Venture Audit, Financial Accounting, Royalty Accounting, Operations Accounting, or Property Accounting. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to ‘kick-start’ a successful career in accounting! * Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office * Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday) * Multiple term starts and lengths: * January 2027 – 8 months * May 2027 – 4, 8, or 12 months * September 2027 – 8 or 12 months * Safety sensitive position: No Key Accountabilities: * Process capital, revenue, royalty and expense amounts within the terms of governing agreements * Prepare reports, journal entries and statements of accounts * Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts * Set up and manage several oil and gas properties and their transaction files * Gather, research, review, vouch, enter and confirm data accuracy * Clarify, investigate and respond to queries and disputes from partners and internal departments * Process audit queries from outside partners and internal audit * Contribute to project work What You Bring to the Role: * Currently enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree program in Accounting, with a commitment to a career in Accounting * Attention to detail is critical, as are strong analytical skills with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills * Familiarity with and understanding of: * Accounting concepts and principles * Research strategies and analytical thinking * Microsoft Excel What We Offer: * Competitive salary * Paid time off during Christmas week and summer Fridays in July and August * Multiple volunteer opportunities within the community * Students may be eligible for relocation assistance pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Student Relocation Policy (Students will be responsible for finding their own accommodations during the work term) * Opportunities to partake in initiatives such as the Intern Social Committee Check out our COMPENSATION & BENEFITS [https://www.cnrl.com/content/uploads/2024/03/Compensation-and-Benefits-Student.pdf] overview to learn more about we have to offer!
