About this position As a Ramp Attendant, you will play a key role in supporting safe and efficient ground operations. Under the direction of the Ramp Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ground handling tasks including loading and unloading aircraft, operating company equipment, and delivering essential ground services to aircraft. Schedule: 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off, 12-hour days, 7 days a week. Your three weeks "on" will be based in Iqaluit, NU. Rotational travel assistance and accommodations are provided for those outside of Iqaluit. Level: As per the UNIFOR Collective Agreement. Pay Rate: Starting at $21.50 CAD per hour as per the UNIFOR Collective Agreement with the opportunity to earn overtime. Candidates located in Iqaluit will also receive a Northern Living Allowance of $18,500.00 CAD per year. What You'll Do * Follow the companies Standard Operating Procedures without deviation; * Promote a safe working culture; * Load/unload aircraft; * Provide services to aircraft on the ground as required; * Assist Customer Service Agents and/or Cargo Attendants if so required ; * Assist passengers with mobility and special needs; * Perform commissary duties as part of the specialized work function; * Responsibly maintain clean and orderly work areas; * Responsibly use and maintain Company equipment; * Perform other duties and functions related to the foregoing; * Completion of daily vehicle/equipment checklist; * Perform other duties and functions related to the foregoing; * Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL BRING * High school diploma or equivalent related work experience (e.g., warehouse, forklift operations, customer service industry, etc.) * 1 year of warehouse and/or customer service experience * Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills * Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a high-pressure, high-volume environment * Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs on a continuous basis * Must hold a valid driver's license * Must be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, holidays, and weekends * Must be able to obtain and retain a D/A level Airport Pass * Required to pass and maintain qualifications on all ramp equipment * Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Knowledge of cargo handling and processing procedures * Knowledge and experience with aircraft loading and load control * Forklift driving experience * Ability to communicate in Inuktitut Accommodation During the Recruitment Process Canadian North is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace.
