Specification Writer – Architectural Hardware We're looking for a Specification Writer to join our Architectural Hardware Specification team. In this role, you'll prepare door hardware specifications, complete product conversions, and analyze architectural plans and specifications to recommend the appropriate hardware solutions. You'll work closely with our sales team, architects, and customers to support a wide range of commercial construction projects. What you'll do: Prepare door hardware schedules from architectural drawings and specifications Complete product conversions by identifying equivalent CANAROPA solutions Read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and technical drawings Analyze project requirements and recommend appropriate door hardware Clarify technical requirements and provide practical solutions when needed Update hardware schedules as projects evolve Maintain accurate project documentation and records What we're looking for: Minimum 5 years of experience in an architectural hardware supplier or similar environment Strong knowledge of architectural door hardware products Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with ERP, CRM, and Adobe software is an asset Post-secondary education (DEC or higher), or an equivalent combination of education and experience Working toward or interested in obtaining the Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) designation is an asset Strong analytical skills, mechanical aptitude, organization, and attention to detail

The Specification Writer will prepare door hardware specifications and analyze architectural plans to recommend appropriate hardware solutions. They will also work closely with the sales team, architects, and customers to support commercial construction projects.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an architectural hardware supplier environment and strong knowledge of architectural door hardware products. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP and CRM systems are also preferred.
