Head of Technology Delivery

JOB PURPOSE The Head of Technology Delivery, reporting directly to the CIO, is responsible for overseeing the initiation, planning, and execution of all Business-IT projects and programs. This role demands active involvement to uphold CanDeal delivery standards while focusing on developing high-quality solutions and successful outcomes. Responsibilities include ensuring the end-to-end delivery process is consistently executed to CanDeal standards, from requirements gathering and development through vendor co-ordination, deployment and transition to production support. The role is deliberately both strategic and execution-oriented. It is intended to complement, not duplicate, existing development leadership — strengthening enterprise-wide delivery, consistency, and alignment as CanDeal scales. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIE S Primary contact for Business-IT delivery across all three major businesses; Markets Trading, Data & Analytics, and Solutions (incubated business services ).Collaborate closely with the business stakeholders and the technology groups to steer and manage Business-IT projects from inception to deliver y.Cascade the strategies from the CIO and Business partners’ strategies to develop roadmaps that ensure efficient resource allocation and sufficient necessary skillset s.Develop and own a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap across the business domains, including core application platform enhancement and underlying supporting infrastructure modernizatio n.Lead and coordinate cloud migration and adoption across Markets and the broader technology organizatio n.Partner with development heads to deliver solutions, and supporting design, development and implementatio n.Ensure all project delivery processes and support structures are established, potential solution gaps are addressed, and the software development lifecycle is enforced throughou t.Drive enterprise architecture and the rationalization of common, shared components — applications, services and resources — across business-technology domains to maximize reuse and consistenc y.Co-manage relationships and with all external vendors during project builds and post-production stage s.Support the Risk and Compliance department with regulatory activities and inquirie s. QUALIFICATI ONS Education & Experi ence Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field is requ ired.Minimum fifteen (15) years of related experience, preferably in the financial services indu stry.Business management training is an a sset. Knowledge, Skills & Abi litiesStrong leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor staff.Deep, hands-on capital markets domain expertise is required, with a proven track record of planning, resourcing, managing and delivering large-scale mission critical financial technology pro jects.Ability to grasp the overall 'Big Picture' while also delving into specific project details within complex sy stems.Proven technology skills and superb analytical skills, with the ability to think “outside the box” to resolve pro blems.Strong understanding and experience in multi-threaded messaging, Resful API, FIX, high-throughput, low-latency systems, data analytics and web applica tions.Solid proven development experience in languages and services like Java, Python, SQL, AWS, and Azure directory ser vices.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively clarify complex technical issues and concepts in a business-friendly manner to various audi ences.Strong organizational skills, with the abilities to manage multiple deliverables in a time-sensitive environment and adapt to frequently changing prior ities.Ability to work effectively within a team, as well as independ ently.Must be available for after-hours support, typically through remote a ccess.Key Qualities for S uccess Self-motivated and driven.Highly attentive to detail and committed to q uality.Enthusiastic, service or iented.Strategic thinker able to set multi-year technical direction while staying hands-on in exe cution.
