Environmental Affairs Associate Specialist - Hybrid Do you love working with documentation and compliance? Do you want to ensure that everyone at Canon is aware of and understands Canon’s environmental management system? Do you enjoy getting employees engaged with environmental initiatives? As an Environmental Affairs Associate Specialist will be responsible for ISO 14001 environmental standards compliance. Your ability to build relationships and recommend solutions will help you to ensure compliance with government regulations and promote environmental awareness. Key Responsibilities Supporting the Environmental Affairs team in working with General Affairs and business units to meet ISO 14001 standards. Conduct internal environmental checks and develop and follow through on plans to address issues. Organizing the collection, review, and submission of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) data from multiple provinces. Track product sales, weights, and packaging details to ensure compliance with provincial programs and Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs). Planning and carrying out Canon’s main employee and community environmental events. This includes running the national Branch Out volunteer program and the yearly Environmental Education Day with local schools and environmental groups. Working with departments such as corporate communications and marketing to plan, create, and run company-wide environmental awareness campaigns and green activities. Tracking, organizing, and preparing regional, corporate, and provincial environmental data and sustainability reports for Canon USA and Canon Japan. Helping make sure all employees have the latest environmental, health, and safety information and training. To Succeed, You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in environmental sustainability or corporate social responsibility Minimum 1 year of related work experience Strong project and process management skills to ensure that the company complies with ISO 14001 standards, and Canadian legislation by defining process and procedures Excellent analytical skills to review environmental legislation or audit reports, and recommend any changes necessary to comply Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously Good computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office/Google Space Lead Audit Certification for ISO 14001 is considered an asset Why Join?
