The Stanley’s Bar and Grill Host(ess) is part of the team responsible for excellent guest service. Main duties include welcoming, seating, assisting the serving team and bussing tables. Other Duties and Responsibilities Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile Accurately take Guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation Assist serving team, when necessary, by taking drink orders and running food Maintain glassware and cutlery Clean floors, walls, counters, windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas Maintain a positive, team oriented work environment Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes Qualifications Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset Strong communication skills Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat attitude Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business Considerations Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool; Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business; and, Ability to work in varied weather conditions, including heat, rain, and winter environments. The host is responsible for welcoming and seating guests while assisting the serving team with drink orders and food running. They also maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas to ensure a positive guest experience.

Candidates must possess strong communication and people skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset, and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting up to 20lbs is required.
