Role Description The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a full-time, on-site role based in Grande Prairie, AB, providing direct, person-centered care to clients in a healthcare or home care setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support, and feeding, while promoting dignity and independence. The CNA monitors and reports changes in clients’ condition, takes vital signs, documents care provided, and follows care plans under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Additional tasks may include light housekeeping related to client care, safe transfer and positioning, infection control practices, and supporting clients’ emotional and social well-being. The role requires consistent collaboration with the care team, clients, and families to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential or equivalent provincial certification; completion of an approved nursing assistant or personal support worker program. Demonstrated skills in providing personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, and feeding. Knowledge of basic clinical procedures such as vital signs measurement, reporting changes in condition, infection control, and safe body mechanics for lifting and transfers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner. Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow care plans, and adhere to safety, privacy, and quality standards and organizational policies. Proven reliability, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced care environment. Compassionate, client-focused approach, with a commitment to person-centered care, professionalism, and ethical practice. CPR/First Aid certification and clear background check; ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with transfers).
