Now Hiring: Health Care Aide (Casual) Location: Casa Mia – Vancouver, BC About Casa Mia Casa Mia offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views. This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a heritage estate setting and modern best practice care. Casa Mia works in partnership with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. What You’ll Do As an HCA you’ll play a vital role in providing resident-centered care. Your responsibilities will include: Provide holistic personal, emotional and psychosocial care to residents Provide personal hygiene, oral care, skincare, toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing, and grooming Use a variety of specialized equipment such as electric beds, mechanical lifts, tubs, and wheelchairs Actively participate in facility meetings and education programs. Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of residents. Ensure the highest resident safety and well-being Monitor, report, and document changes in resident’s health status What You Bring Graduate from an approved Care Aide, RCA, Nursing assistant, or PSW program Registered and in good standing with the BC Care Aide Registry Must have a valid Canadian work permit Current First Aid, WHMIS and Food Safe Certificates. Must be in good health and be physically able to perform all aspects of the position. Previous experience in Long Term Care is preferred. Must be a graduate of an approved Care Aide, RCA, or nursing assistant program and registered with the BC Care Aide Registry. Requires current First Aid, WHMIS, and Food Safe certificates, along with physical ability to perform all aspects of the role.
