Position Details Position Status: Temporary Full Time Term Ends: March 31, 2027 Location: Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Recreation Therapy - Night Owls Project BW Hours: 77.50 FTE: 1.00 Shift: Evenings Shift Times: 1400-2215 Union: Non Union GSS Rate of Pay: 25.46 - 30.13 PCN: FanNightOwlsTA02 Date Competition Closes: August 06, 2026 The Opportunity Position Summary: Responsible for working under the direction of the Recreation Therapist(s) to provide therapeutic programming to clients. The focus is on helping clients to achieve life enrichment and recreation goals. This position reports to a Director of Care for performance and employment matters. This position works as part of the therapy team to contribute to the client’s quality of life by providing appropriate interventions to maximize safety, functional independence, leisure pursuits, reduce boredom and improve mental health. Responsible for other related duties as required. Qualifications & Experience: - Graduation from an Accredited Therapy Assistant program. - Relevant equivalent training or experience may be considered. - Previous experience in a therapeutic setting is essential. - Experience with computers preferred. \n \n

The Therapy Assistant works under the direction of a Recreation Therapist to provide therapeutic programming aimed at achieving client life enrichment and recreation goals. They contribute to the client's quality of life by providing interventions that maximize safety, functional independence, and mental health.

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Therapy Assistant program or possess equivalent training and experience. Previous experience in a therapeutic setting is essential, and computer proficiency is preferred.
