About the Role: As a Part-time Physician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality medical care to patients within a clinical setting. Your primary objective will be to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient. This role requires maintaining up-to-date medical knowledge and adhering to Canadian healthcare regulations and standards. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving patient outcomes and supporting the overall health and well-being of the community you serve. Minimum Qualifications: * Medical degree from an accredited university, with additional certification in Family Medicine. * License to practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. * Additional training in an area relevant to the Centre’s services. * Completion of residency training in a relevant specialty or family medicine. * Demonstrated clinical experience in patient care. Experience: * Three to five years full-time primary care experience; experience in a community-based setting or combination of community and hospital or public health settings, an asset. * Experience and interest in working with marginalized and diverse clientele, such as low-income, high-needs, newcomer, and a variety of multicultural communities. * Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. * Experience in a non-profit, community-based organization an asset. Preferred Qualifications: * Additional certifications or training in specialized areas such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, or chronic disease management. * Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in Canadian healthcare settings. * Bilingual proficiency in English and French. * Previous experience in part-time or flexible clinical roles. Responsibilities: * Conduct thorough patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. * Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical findings and best practice guidelines. * Prescribe medications and therapies while monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments as necessary. * Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. * Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. * Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options. * Participate in continuing medical education and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical skills. Skills: The required skills enable the physician to perform comprehensive patient evaluations, make accurate diagnoses, and develop effective treatment plans that improve patient health outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining complex medical information clearly to patients and collaborating effectively with healthcare team members. Organizational skills are used daily to manage patient caseloads, maintain detailed records, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Preferred skills such as proficiency with EMR systems enhance efficiency and accuracy in documentation and patient management. Additionally, bilingual abilities and specialized training allow the physician to serve a broader patient population and address diverse healthcare needs with cultural sensitivity.
