As a Slitter Operator, you will be required to learn, understand, and put into practice all of our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operator/Slitter. You must be able to work in an environment with distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position. Expected hours of work is Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm& 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Duties And Responsibilities Operate slitting/packaging cell to cut, package and label various rolled roofing products. Provide support to maintenance team members to help troubleshoot machine issues and make improvements (optimization) within the department. Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results. Perform daily walks around your work area to ensure guards and safety devices are in place. Perform checks on safety equipment and record results as part of an ongoing safety program Perform checks to validate the acceptability of product packaging and product counts Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail Working knowledge of safety standards WHMIS Ability to work rotating shifts Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines. Ability to uphold confidentiality Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements Perform any other duties as assigned by Team Leader Education And Experience High School Diploma required or equivalent. Two to Three Years of Manufacturing experience Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset Working Conditions Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings Additional Information This is a fully onsite position. The employee is expected to be physically present at their designated work location during scheduled hours. In-person attendance is essential for collaboration, access to onsite resources, and the performance of job responsibilities. Employees must comply with all site-specific safety, security, and conduct policies.
