Position Summary: Carter Forest Products is seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial individual to join our trading team and take on significant responsibility for driving business growth. The Lumber Trader will build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, and promoting lumber products across North America. This position entails analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and managing key accounts to drive long-term growth. A minimum of 2 years of B2B sales experience and strong phone sales skills are required. Responsibilities: Prospect and cold call to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring ongoing achievement of sales targets Actively promote lumber and wood products to customers across North America daily. Analyze lumber market trends and provide valuable insights to both customers and team members. Accurately establish sales and purchase pricing while negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers. Quickly gain a deep understanding of the flow of goods and trade within North America for bulk commodity products. Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts, including purchasing managers and company owners, ensuring long-term business growth and customer satisfaction. Qualifications / Skills: Minimum of 2 years of prior B2B sales experience required. A university degree is an asset, though equivalent business experience will also be considered. Strong phone sales skills and a proven track record of successful cold calling are highly desirable Conditions of Employment: Traders should be comfortable working on the phone for extended periods each day, as phone-based communication is a key aspect of the role. Applicants for the trading position should be prepared to work from the office five days a week Salary & Benefits: Salary: Starting from $60,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience. Commission: High performers can regularly exceed $100,000 in commission income within 12-24 months.
