Résumé du poste
Carzan | Saskatchewan | 4-Month Term $22/hour + Performance-Based Commission ABOUT CARZAN Carzan is a Saskatchewan-based Canadian beef jerky company built from the ranch up. We raise cattle in Saskatchewan’s Touchwood Hills and have grown Carzan from a small local business into an emerging Canadian CPG brand, with products sold online and through a growing network of retailers across Canada. We’re looking for someone who wants more than a traditional internship. This is an opportunity to work directly alongside the founders of a growing CPG company and gain real, hands-on experience in sales, retail, brand building and entrepreneurship. THE ROLE We’re looking for an outgoing, motivated Brand Ambassador & Sales Intern to join us for a four-month term. You’ll start by working directly alongside our team—learning our products, our story, our customers and how we sell Carzan. As you gain experience, you’ll increasingly head out on your own to represent the brand throughout Saskatchewan. This is a hands-on position combining sales, brand representation, retail support, product demos, events and business development. You won’t spend four months sitting behind a desk. You’ll be talking to customers, walking into stores, meeting retailers, sampling products, attending trade and consumer shows, prospecting for new accounts and helping us grow Carzan. WHAT YOU’LL DO Represent Carzan at retail stores, consumer events and CPG/trade shows Conduct in-store product demonstrations and sampling events Travel throughout Saskatchewan representing the Carzan brand Prospect for new retail accounts and sales opportunities Conduct cold outreach to prospective retailers Visit existing retail partners and help strengthen those relationships Introduce retailers and customers to Carzan products and our brand story Generate new wholesale and retail sales Follow up with prospective accounts and help move opportunities toward a sale Assist with trade shows, exhibitions and other brand events Support grassroots marketing and brand-building initiatives Learn how sales, retail, marketing and operations work together inside a growing CPG company Work directly alongside Carzan’s founders before gradually taking on more independent responsibility WHAT YOU’LL LEARN This position is designed to provide real-world experience, not four months of watching someone else work. Sales & Business Development Learn how to prospect, make cold introductions, pitch products, follow up, close sales and build long-term retail relationships. CPG & Retail See firsthand how a consumer packaged goods brand gets onto store shelves and how relationships with independent retailers, distributors and larger retail organizations are developed and maintained. Brand Building Learn how demos, events, trade shows, merchandising, storytelling and customer interactions contribute to building a recognizable consumer brand. Entrepreneurship Work alongside the people building the company and experience the decisions, challenges and opportunities involved in growing a Canadian CPG brand from the ground up. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who: Is confident talking to people and building relationships Is willing to walk into a business, introduce themselves and start a conversation Has an interest in sales, entrepreneurship, marketing, CPG or business development Is motivated by results and excited about the opportunity to earn additional commission Is dependable and able to represent our brand professionally Is comfortable working independently Is willing and able to travel throughout Saskatchewan Enjoys events, meeting new people and working in a fast-moving environment Is willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for demos and events Wants to learn by actually doing the work Previous sales experience is an asset, but it isn’t everything. We’re more interested in finding someone with the personality, drive, work ethic and willingness to learn. STUDENT ELIGIBILITY This position is supported through the Venture for Canada Internship Program. To be eligible, applicants must: Be currently enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited Canadian college or university Be studying toward a diploma or degree in any discipline Remain enrolled or completing program requirements for at least the first 30 days of the internship Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person with refugee status Be legally eligible to work in Canada International students and recent graduates are not eligible for this funded position. You do not need to be enrolled in a formal co-op program to apply. COMPENSATION $22/hour + performance-based commission This position includes a guaranteed hourly wage of $22/hour, with additional commission opportunities tied to sales performance. We want someone who is excited about representing the brand, building relationships and generating sales—and we believe strong performance should be rewarded. TERM This is a four-month internship/work term, with the potential to return for an additional consecutive term based on performance, continued student eligibility and available funding. The position will involve a combination of working alongside the Carzan team, independent travel throughout Saskatchewan, retail visits, sales outreach, in-store demos and events. Some evening and weekend work will be required depending on demo and event schedules. WHY CARZAN? You’ll be joining Carzan at a stage where we’re actively growing our retail presence and building the brand across Canada. Rather than observing from the sidelines, you’ll have an opportunity to directly contribute to that growth. By the end of your term, our goal is for you to leave with genuine experience in sales, business development, retail, CPG, brand building and entrepreneurship—and an understanding of what it actually takes to take a Canadian food brand from the ranch to store shelves. Snack Like it Matters.™
