Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, kitchen organization, and teamwork. Your culinary expertise and leadership will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Locations: Picture Butte, Alberta Responsibilities Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and cooking menu items following established recipes and presentation standards. Quality Control: Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet the restaurant’s standards. Kitchen Management: Collaborate with the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including inventory, scheduling, and ordering. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to kitchen staff, fostering their development in culinary and leadership skills. Production Goals: Assist in setting production goals and expectations for the kitchen team. Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen, following health and safety guidelines and regulations. Menu Innovation: Contribute to menu development and suggest creative dishes while considering food trends and seasonal ingredients. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet guest needs and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Leadership: Lead by example with a positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication within the kitchen team and with management. Requirements 3 years minimum cooking experience. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role. Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred. Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Food Safety Certification required. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. Authorized to work in Canada.
