Overview The Project Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for managing all or part of the engineering scope of a CB&I project including the execution of engineering deliverables. The Project Engineer provides leadership and instruction to the engineering and design discipline leads on an assigned project. This position is ultimately responsible for the integrity of the work produced. Work includes the administrative and technical management, schedule, cost, and quantity control. The role directly reports to the Manager of Engineering and routinely interacts with clients and all CB&I functions including project management, procurement, subcontracting, estimating, etc. Responsibilities Provides direction and coordinates the engineering and design discipline leads on an assigned project. Lead execution of engineering deliverables including the engineering schedule, budget, document controls, and manpower staffing of engineering deliverables. Establishes project procedures to ensure deliverables meet client and established engineering and project requirements. Ensures effective communications among the engineering disciplines. Reviews work with client, management, and functional leads. Identifies problems and coordinates with the engineering team to correct. Proactively identifies and manages change. Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication, or construction. May be assigned as the Project Engineering Manager for a project. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering required Professional Engineering Licence in at least one province preferred Has 3+ years of project engineering experience in large industrial projects; 3-5+ years in discipline Experiece with storage tanks and/or pressure vessels and familiar with their respective design codes (i.e. API 650, API 620, ASME Section VIII Div1/Div2) Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and the ability to successfully multi-task French an asset Common Performance Metrics Quality - Excellence of deliverables whether on projects, management reports, company documents and standards. Quality of engineering project deliverables is the key performance metric followed by project schedule performance and project engineering cost performance vs. budget. Efficiency - Meeting deadlines and staying within budget and influencing others to do the same. Teamwork - Communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, including technical content, presentations, proposals, white papers with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Forecasting - Making commitments and upholding those commitments. Being reliable. Priorities - Understanding priorities and working to them, accordingly, guiding others to do the same. Continuous Improvement - Looking for improvement areas, taking initiative, receptive to new ideas.
