Test Lead Overview To support Government of Ontario priorities under Bill 5 (Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025), this role may be partially assigned to Bill 5 projects. Hybrid arrangement: candidate must work 3 days onsite (subject to OPS policy). Responsibilities Collaborate with product managers/owners and technical teams to define test strategies and plans. Develop manual test scripts, cases, and scenarios; plan and create test data. Execute QA/testing activities: integration, functional, regression, unit, load, performance, accessibility. Organize testing across front-end and back-end environments. Implement technical testing strategy including integration points, interfaces, and non-functional requirements (fail-over, response times, data integrity, security). Record defects/issues in Azure DevOps with detailed descriptions, screenshots, and reproduction steps. Define and measure acceptance criteria; evaluate sprint increments. Participate in workshops, sprint reviews, walkthroughs, and UAT activities. Communicate test results through reports summarizing completion and defects. Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing. General Skills Experience planning/implementing testing efforts. Knowledge of SDLC and structured methodologies. Familiarity with CASE tools, query tools, automated test tools, version control. Experience executing functional, non-functional, and integration tests. Support UAT activities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Team player with a track record of meeting deadlines. Must Have: Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language Experience in the use of information retrieval packages Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases Experience testing Commercial Off-the Shelf Applications (COTS)

The Test Lead is responsible for defining test strategies, developing test scripts, and executing various QA activities across front-end and back-end environments. They will manage the defect lifecycle in Azure DevOps and collaborate with product owners to ensure acceptance criteria are met.

Candidates must have experience in programming, automated test scripting, and testing COTS applications within an Agile environment. Proficiency in AODA standards, SQL/PLSQL, and information management principles is required.
