Are you passionate about sustainability and motivated by the opportunity to create meaningful environmental change? CD SONTER is looking for a Specialist, Sustainability Services to join our Waste Optimization Division. In this role, you will work with clients to help them meet their corporate and regulatory waste management objectives. You will support waste audits, data analysis, waste program optimization and other sustainable waste management initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of field work, analytical problem-solving, and sustainability consulting and wants to grow their career alongside experienced industry professionals. The position reports to the Division Manager and is based out of our head office in Toronto, Ontario. This contract position offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work model, combining on-site field work with the flexibility to work from the office and remotely. What You’ll Do Conduct physical, on-site waste audits to assess waste quantities, composition and diversion performance Evaluate the effectiveness of existing waste management programs and identify opportunities for improvement Review waste infrastructure and equipment to assess appropriate sizing and utilization Complete waste audit calculations, data analysis, and report preparation Review and analyze waste invoices, collection records and waste summary data Collect, analyze, and evaluate waste data to develop program recommendations, waste reduction work plans, and waste audit reports Conduct research on waste management and sustainability-related topics Support client sustainability initiatives and projects Collaborate with internal team members to deliver high-quality environmental solutions Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required What You Bring College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, environment, sustainability, project management, or a related field Minimum 1 year of experience in the environmental, sustainability, waste management, or property management sector Experience conducting waste audits and knowledge of waste management and diversion best practices LEED GA® or LEED AP® designation is considered an asset Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment Willingness and ability to work outside regular business hours when required Ability to travel across Canada as required Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle Ability to lift and handle bags and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs What We Offer We are committed to investing in our people and creating opportunities for professional growth, development and career success and provide: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Flexible working hours and a hybrid work model Professional development and career advancement opportunities Paid sick and personal days Home office reimbursement program Employee volunteering program Company events and social activities A collaborative and supportive workplace culture The opportunity to work alongside experienced environmental and sustainability professionals The opportunity to make a tangible impact through practical sustainability solutions Join Our Team If you are looking for an opportunity to build your career in sustainability while working on projects that create measurable environmental impact, we would love to hear from you.
