Power Pac is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical construction projects, from initial review through bid submission and project handoff. This role requires strong knowledge of electrical construction, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents. The Electrical Estimator will work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and other internal team members to develop complete and reliable project estimates. Key Responsibilities Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and other tender documents Prepare detailed material and labour take-offs for electrical construction projects Develop accurate project estimates, budgets, bid summaries, and proposals Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors Identify project risks, exclusions, scope gaps, and opportunities Attend site visits, tender meetings, and pre-bid meetings as required Prepare requests for information and seek clarification on tender documents Maintain organized estimating files, pricing information, and project documentation Track tender deadlines and ensure bids are completed and submitted on time Assist with change-order pricing and project cost reviews Support the transition of successful bids from estimating to project management Maintain current knowledge of labour rates, material costs, construction methods, and industry trends Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal team members Qualifications Previous experience estimating electrical construction projects Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, installation methods, and construction practices Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet firm tender deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with electrical estimating, take-off, or construction management software is an asset Electrical trade certification, engineering technology diploma, or related post-secondary education is an asset Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta construction practices is an asset Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience A collaborative and supportive working environment Opportunities for professional growth and career development The opportunity to work on a variety of electrical construction projects across Alberta Cdn.
