Whether you're looking for a 7x7 or 14x14 rotation, you'll enjoy steady, year-round work while building your skills alongside experienced Journeyperson technicians. Based out of our truck shop at 180 MacLennan Crescent in Fort McMurray, AB, you'll work on one of the industry's most diverse fleets using OEM diagnostic software, specialized tooling, and equipment that supports continuous learning and professional growth. What We Offer: Competitive wage of $63.44/hour $800/month Heavy Equipment Technician allowance Retention program Excellent benefits and employer-matched pension contributions starting on your first day Annual Health Care Spending Account Choice of 7x7 or 14x14 rotations with 12-hour days Overtime opportunities available during peak operational periods Clean, modern, and well-equipped shop located in Fort McMurray Full-time, year-round work with all repairs completed in-house, providing exposure to a wide variety of equipment and opportunities to expand your technical expertise Key Duties and Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Hydrovacs, Wet Vacuum Trucks, Combo Units, Water Trucks, High Pressure Water Blasting equipment, highway tractors, and trailers (Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Western Star) Diagnose and repair diesel engines and after-treatment systems, including Cummins, CAT, Detroit, and John Deere Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, PTOs, clutches, transmissions, differentials, vacuum pumps, blowers, and burner systems Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP) Interpret work orders and accurately document completed repairs Mentor apprentices and support their development Participate in daily toolbox and safety meetings while adhering to company and site safety requirements Role Specifications: Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (On-Road) certification required Valid Class 5 driver's licence with no more than five demerits in the past three years Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence is considered an asset CVIP licence or the ability to obtain one Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is considered an asset Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Must provide your own tools Skills: You’re happiest working as part of a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers while getting the job done safely and efficiently You’re meticulous — you enjoy troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, performing precision work, and completing accurate documentation for projects and repairs You have strong communication skills and take pride in producing quality workmanship while finding solutions to challenging problems Your knowledge of Cummins, CAT, and John Deere engines will help you succeed in maintaining our diverse fleet Additional Information The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
