Career / Career / Quoting & Engineering Engineer Quoting & Engineering Engineer Job Overview: Celestix Industries is seeking a technically inclined and cost-conscious Quoting & Engineering Engineer to support pre-production quoting, technical review, and feasibility assessments for custom wiring harnesses and electronic components. This role works closely with senior engineers, procurement, and customers to ensure accurate, competitive, and manufacturable solutions. Key Responsibilities Quoting & Cost Estimation Support Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for wiring harness and electronic assemblies. Analyze RFQs and gather cost data for materials, labor, and overheads. Coordinate with procurement to secure supplier quotations and lead times. Support pricing strategies in collaboration with senior engineers. Technical Review & Feasibility Interpret technical drawings and customer specs for design feasibility. Collaborate with engineering teams on design optimizations for cost and manufacturability. Ensure all proposals adhere to standards like IPC/WHMA-A-620. Engineering Support & Development Assist in product development and prototyping. Support testing and validation activities during early-stage builds. Contribute to design reviews with a focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Process & Cost Optimization Identify opportunities to streamline quoting and production using lean principles. Contribute to continuous improvement projects under senior engineer guidance. Supplier & Customer Interface Liaise with suppliers for technical inputs and component pricing. Assist with customer communications regarding quotes and basic technical clarifications. Support customer requests for design or cost-related discussions. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate quote records, design updates, and communication logs. Generate reports on cost trends, quote activity, and performance metrics. Track material substitutions and their cost implications. Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering. 1–3 years’ experience in wiring harness quoting, design, or costing. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and RFQs. Basic understanding of standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001:2015. Proficiency in Excel and basic ERP familiarity preferred.
