The Centre for Race and Culture (CFRAC) is a small, committed team working alongside equity-deserving communities and supporting meaningful, community-based change. These summer student positions are intended for individuals who bring curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn. CFRAC is seeking students who are open to exploring new frameworks, asking thoughtful questions, and contributing to work that embraces both complexity and possibility. We are recruiting for three summer student positions to support CFRAC’s work across Communications, Projects & Initiatives, and Operations. Each role will have a primary area of focus while also contributing to shared organizational priorities and working collaboratively as part of the broader team. What We’re Looking For Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interest in communications, community engagement, project support, or operations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with digital tools, social media, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms is an asset. Interest in equity, anti-racism, and community-centered work is an asset. What You Can Expect Hands-on experience supporting organizational priorities and community-based projects. Opportunities to learn from a small, collaborative team. Eligibility To be eligible, youth must: be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment, and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations Note: International students are not eligible for participation. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labor market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labor market. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, a youth visa, or a work visa, are ineligible.

Exigences

Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with an interest in communications, community engagement, project support, or operations. Familiarity with digital tools and a commitment to equity and anti-racism work are also desirable.
