Summary The Compression Parts Specialist is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and delivering compressor maintenance parts on time. This role manages inventory checks, parts ordering, vendor follow-up, and receiving to prevent downtime caused by missing or incorrect parts. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory for compression and related maintenance parts through regular counts, proper labelling, and organized storage Create and manage purchase requests/orders for required parts and ensure the correct part number, specification, and quantity are ordered Track vendor lead times and shipment status daily; follow up with suppliers and carriers to confirm delivery dates and resolve delays quickly Receive, verify, and stage parts for upcoming maintenance work; coordinate with Maintenance/Operations to ensure parts are ready before scheduled jobs Reduce part loss and confusion by improving identification (labels, bins, documentation) and maintaining clear records of where parts are stored and who they are issued to Control costs by reducing rush orders and expedited shipping, preventing duplicate purchases, and supporting approved vendor and pricing practices Maintain procurement and inventory documentation (packing slips, receiving records, PO status, warranty info) and support audits as needed Requirements 3 – 5 years of experience in a compression parts role Parts journeyman ticket is an asset Must have basic mechanical and technical knowledge Ability to influence and tactfully deal with a wide range of personalities Exceptional teamwork ethic with a positive, analytical, and safe work attitude Must have organizational, verbal/written communication, and interpersonal skills Basic skills in the use of computer-based programs such as MS 365 Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Consignment Experience with inventory systems Able to operate a forklift or pallet jack Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence Ability to apply concepts of basic math Be able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
