AZ Owner Operators

Elgin Motor Freight is a division of Challenger Motor Freight. This position in based out of London, ON. Owner Operators run a 300 – 500-mile radius from the terminal. Lanes of travel are states east of the Mississippi river, including East Coast States, mainly NJ, PA, VA, Mid West some 401 corridor including Greater Montreal. All dispatches are done in a priority sequence based on driver, customer, and load requirements. There is no forced New York City (Boroughs) dispatch. Our expectation is to have a minimum of 5 full days of 24-hour availability or more. We like to run you according to your available hours and within legal requirements, which could mean running over the weekend. Driver requirements: Minimum 21 years of age One year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience * Clean driving record Maximum three demerit points (preferred) Zero convictions or out-of-service events on CVOR abstract (preferred) Criminal record search (no offences under Criminal Code of Canada) Valid Class AZ driver’s licence Professional attitude and desire to be part of an award-winning team A FAST CARD is a requirement for this division Owner Operators: Competitive rate per mile, many flat rate runs Paid biweekly via direct deposit Discounts on Parts and Tires Access to our shops at discounted rates Option to join Group Benefits No paint code Open door policy Safety Incentives Paid Fuel Surcharge + Fuel discounts Some runs require border crossing capability

The Owner Operator is responsible for transporting goods within a 300-500 mile radius of the London terminal, including travel across the US border. Drivers must maintain 24-hour availability for at least 5 days a week and adhere to all legal driving requirements.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid Class AZ driver's licence and at least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience. A clean driving record, a FAST card, and the ability to cross the border are mandatory requirements.
