Equipment Operator

POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: Operate a variety of scrap metal machines. Load and Unload scrap metal from trucks using forklift. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent sitting while operating shearing, bailing, and forklift equipment Some standing, walking, and lifting when in the yard and sorting scrap metal MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Ability to work well with other employees Ability to follow instructions Basic math skills Basic reading skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience running multiple machines Ability to drive a forklift truck MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operate shearing machines Operate bailing machines Sort scrap metal Load and unload trucks in the yard Operate forklift as necessary Ensure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUPERVISION: Business specific, please update at time of posting ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Business specific, please update at time of posting Primary internal customers: Business specific, please update at time of posting Primary external customers: Business specific, please update at time of posting POSITION CHALLENGES: None We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing. The Equipment Operator will operate various scrap metal machines, including shearing and bailing machines. They will also load and unload scrap metal from trucks and ensure a safe work environment.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and the ability to work well with others. Basic math and reading skills are required, along with the ability to follow instructions.
