Chevalier Morales

Stephan Chevalier and Sergio Morales founded Chevalier Morales in 2005. Chevalier Morales was first known as a finalist for over thirty architectural competitions such as the New Planetarium in Montreal, the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce cultural center, St-Laurent Library, a new cultural venue for the youth in Sherbrooke, the 7 Fingers Creation Center, the Youth Theater Les Gros Becs in Quebec, the new National Bank’s new headquarters in downtown Montreal, as well as for the 2023 Biennale di Venezia. The firm is now known most notably for winning several of these architectural competitions for institutional and cultural projects: the Saul-Bellow Library (Lachine), the Maison de la littérature (Québec), the Drummondville Library (Drummondville), the Pierrefonds Library (Montréal), and most recently, the Agora des Arts in Rouyn-Noranda. The firm is regularly invited to showcase its work through lectures and exhibitions in Canada while their projects are published nationally and internationally. Stephan Chevalier and Sergio Morales have also been involved in the domain of academia for many years, teaching and critiquing at the local universities in Montreal. Chevalier Morales has built a reputation for the quality of their work, which in recent years has resulted in winning several prestigious prizes such as two consecutive Grand Prix of Excellence awarded by the Architect Association of Québec. The firm is recipient of the 2018 Emerging Architectural Practice Award by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) as well as a General Governor’s Medal in Architecture for the Maison de la Littérature and Drummondville Public Library.
