Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools serves approximately 10 500 students, 500 teachers and 250 support staff in southern Alberta. Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools provides an authentic Catholic education to students in traditional schools in Canmore, Brooks, Drumheller, High River, Okotoks, De Winton, Oyen, and Strathmore, and provides online schooling, home education, and shared responsibility programs to students all over Alberta and around the world. As a publicly funded Catholic School District, our schools and job locations are infused with the Catholic Faith. The successful candidate will demonstrate a respectful and sympathetic sensitivity to the Catholic beliefs and practices of the students and staff. CTR Catholic invites applications for the position of Payroll Officer. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll and benefits for Teaching and Substitute Teaching Staff. This role performs day-to-day operational payroll activities while providing high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate needs a strong working knowledge of payroll processing, employment standards, benefits and pension administration and applicable legislative requirements to ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards. The successful candidate will also need to maintain strict confidentiality of employee information and respond to inquiries from employees, administrators, and third-party providers regarding payroll, benefits, and pension matters. This role adheres to established payroll deadlines, third-party reporting and filing requirements, administrative procedures, organizational needs and applicable government legislation. A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute is required. A Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation would be an asset. 5 years of full-cycle experience in payroll, benefit and pension administration is required. Knowledge and experience with ATRF is an asset. Bookkeeping or accounting experience would also be considered an asset.
