Our Occupational Therapist assesses functional abilities; identifies, develops, and implements treatment and intervention plans; develops, restores, or maintains skills; compensates for disabilities; reduces situations of disability; and adapts the environment to promote optimal autonomy in resident interactions. The Occupational Therapist also participates in clinical teaching.<br><br><strong>Responsabilities </strong><ul><li>Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Interdisciplinary Intervention Plan.</li><li>Perform functional and behavioural assessments, including neuro?musculoskeletal function, the impact of disabilities on functional abilities, and residents? life habits, and make appropriate intervention recommendations.</li><li>Support residents in developing, regaining, or maintaining physical and mental functioning, or in adapting to disabilities, by implementing programs that include manual activities and crafts, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensory?motor, educational, recreational, and social activities.</li><li>Educate staff, residents, and families on home exercise programs and recommend or provide assistive equipment.</li><li>Promote interactions among residents</li><li>Ensure the safe and proper use of equipme<strong>nt</strong> by participating in its selection, adjustment, and monitoring, and by providing guidance to staff and residents as needed.</li></ul> <br> <ul><li>Master's degree in Occupational Therapy</li><li>Ordre professionnel des ergothérapeutes du Québec (OEQ) member</li><li>Two years of experience, an important asset</li><li>Good knowledge of spoken and written English and French. This position requires English to meet residents' needs, who are mostly English speakers</li></ul>
