OVERVIEW Reporting to the Operational Controller, the Treasury Analyst, will plays a key role in supporting the organization's treasury operations, cash management, banking activities, financial reporting, and liquidity planning. This position is responsible for managing daily cash positions, processing and recording treasury-related transactions, preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts, performing bank and General Ledger reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial reporting requirements. As a trusted partner within the Finance function, the Treasury Analyst will support liquidity management, working capital optimization, and operational efficiency by collaborating closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and external banking partners. RESPONSIBILITIES Cash Management & Liquidity Management Monitor daily cash positions and ensure sufficient liquidity is available to meet operational requirements. Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cash position reports. Support short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting processes. Analyze cash inflows and outflows and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving liquidity. Assist in optimizing working capital through effective cash management practices. Provide variance analysis between forecasted and actual cash positions and communicate findings to Finance leadership. Support funding decisions and intercompany cash movements, where applicable. Bank Reconciliations & Cash Accounting Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of all banking transactions. Investigate and resolve reconciling items, including unapplied cash, outstanding payments, bank errors, and timing differences. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and banking partners to resolve discrepancies on a timely basis. Reconcile treasury-related balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules. Ensure all reconciliations are completed in accordance with month-end close timelines. Banking Transactions & Payment Processing Review, validate, and process daily banking transactions, including wire transfers, EFTs, ACH payments, deposits, and electronic payment files. Monitor incoming and outgoing payments to ensure completeness and accuracy. Ensure payment transactions are properly authorized and comply with established financial controls and treasury policies. Manage positive pay, account verification, fraud prevention tools, and payment exception processes. Monitor banking activity and investigate unusual or unauthorized transactions. Support bank account administration, including account openings, closures, user access management, and signatory maintenance. General Ledger & Financial Reporting Review and prepare treasury-related journal entries and General Ledger (GL) postings. Ensure accurate recording of cash, banking, interest, foreign exchange, and treasury transactions within the ERP system. Reconcile cash and treasury-related GL accounts and investigate discrepancies. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting requirements. Assist with audit requests by providing treasury reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Cash Flow Forecasting & Analysis Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts using information from Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and business operations. Analyze forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting methodologies. Identify liquidity risks and recommend proactive solutions. Prepare cash forecasting reports and executive summaries for management review. Support budgeting and strategic planning initiatives by providing cash flow projections and treasury analysis. Treasury Controls, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with treasury policies, internal controls, and corporate governance requirements. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries. Maintain accurate records of banking and treasury activities. Assist in monitoring financial risk exposures, including liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks. Support fraud prevention initiatives and banking security protocols. Ensure compliance with banking agreements and organizational financial policies. Banking & Stakeholder Relationship Management Serve as a key liaison between the organization and banking partners. Escalate and resolve banking service issues and transaction inquiries. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Accounting teams to resolve payment and reconciliation issues. Support treasury-related projects and strategic initiatives. Assist in evaluating banking services, fees, and operational efficiencies. QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CTP (Certified Treasury Professional), or progress toward a professional designation is considered an asset. Experience Minimum 2–5 years of experience in treasury, banking, cash management, accounting, or finance. Strong experience with: Bank reconciliations Cash management and liquidity reporting Cash flow forecasting General Ledger postings and account reconciliations Payment processing and banking operations Experience using ERP systems such as SAP HANA, or equivalent. Experience with treasury management systems and online banking platforms is an asset. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, and financial reporting. Knowledge/Competencies/Skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Solid understanding of accounting principles and treasury operations. Knowledge of banking products, payment systems, and cash management practices. Strong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in automation and process optimization. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and creativity in problem- solving, with the ability to thrive in a changing environment with frequent and competing priorities. WORKING CONDITIONS All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment. On-site work in the Toronto office will be required on a case-by-case basis. Peak work periods (quarterly reporting, business planning/budgeting) may require extended hours to meet deadlines. PAY TRANSPARENCY Expected Compensation: An annual base salary in the range of $63,000 to $79,000 The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects a potential base salary range for this role. The actual salary offered will be determined within the range, and will depend on factors, such as the candidate’s unique qualifications, relevant experience, work location and expected contributions.
