POSTING TYPE: Internal POSITION TYPE: Part-Time HOURS OF WORK: 20-40 hour work week, as per schedule HOURLY RATE $35.85 per hour, Pay Grade 2 - Schedule “B” Outside Employees ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION * Grade 12 Diploma or GED LICENSES / CERTIFICATES * Valid Class five (5) BC Driver’s License EXPERIENCE * Three (3) years’ experience in a Municipal Works environment, or similar nature in private industry, including: * * Janitorial work * Lawn maintenance SPECIFIC SKILLS * Ability to operate municipal works equipment. * Basic knowledge of computers and general office equipment. * Ability to follow oral and written instructions. * Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable tact, courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with members of the public, other agencies and staff. * High degree of initiative and sound judgement. * Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. * Demonstrated ability to perform all of the duties outlined in a safe manner following established City policies and procedures; WorkSafeBC. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS * Available to work various schedules, weekends, holidays, day, evening, and night shifts as outlined in the Collective Agreement. * Respond to emergency callouts and undertake responsibilities specific to Disaster Services. * A satisfactory Police Information Check required.
