This is an exempt position which forms part of the management team in the organization and is primarily responsible for all external and internal corporate communications, promotional initiatives and public relations that support communications, including social media applications and website maintenance. The Communications and Events Manager works collaboratively with all necessary Departments and community groups as part of coordinating civic events and activities that the City delivers directly or where the City is partnering or sponsoring a group or organization.Qualifications:Our ideal candidate is a strategic and creative communications professional with a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, complemented by at least five years of progressiveexperience in communications, marketing, public relations, or event management. You are an exceptional writer and communicator with a strong command of Canadian Press style, proven experience managing digital communications platforms and social media, and a talent for crafting compelling messaging that builds engagement and public trust.Position Information:Salary Range: $80,750 to $104,500Hours: 37.5 / week - Monday to Friday;Status: Exempt - Permanent Full-Time;Benefits: Competitive benefit package;Municipal Pension Plan; and, Free Single or Family Annual Pass at the Trail Aquatic and Leisure Center.Posting Date:August 5, 2026Application Deadline:September 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.Application Information:A detailed job description, outlining the duties and qualifications more fully, is available on the City?s website at www.trail.ca/employment.Are you interested in joining our team?
