Service: Complexes, Aqua & Specialized Services Employment Type: 1 or more Part-time Continuous Positions – up to 24 hours per week Work Hours: 26.00 /hours per week Affiliation: CUPE 503 PT - RC & Aquatics/CUPE 503 PT Rec Salary Information: $18.247 - $18.623 per hour (2024 rates of pay) Various Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends Location: Various locations City: Ottawa, ON Job Category: Recreation, Cultural & Facility Services Application Close: 06/06/2027 JOB SUMMARY The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for building a healthy, inclusive and vibrant City, as well as ensuring that communities, residents and visitors have access to the recreation and cultural places, programs, events and services that allow them to experience all the benefits the City has to offer, and overseeing Buildings and Facilities Management for improved service delivery integration, ensuring the best possible client experience in City facilities. You are responsible for supervising and assisting the customer’s use of a facility or site on behalf of the City of Ottawa. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Completion of Grade 10 Experience working with the public and providing service to customers CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates AODA Customer Service/IASR Training KNOWLEDGE * Develops a working knowledge of the Department’s facilities, programmes and policies * Knowledge of corporate computer software is an asset * Leadership training is an asset COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Demonstrated effective decision-making and judgement. * Ability to work effectively in both a team setting and independently with minimum supervision. * Positive and effective communication and customer service skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities. * Ability to relate positively and effectively with a wide diversity of people. * Displays initiative, reliability and flexibility. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW * Language Requirement:Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing. * Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check (Level 2) with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction. * Please save a copy of the job poster.
