While both roles share foundational responsbilities and qualifications related to maintenance planning and analysis, each stream is tailored to distinct areas of expertise and operational focus: 1. Senior Maintenance Analyst (stream 1)2. Senior Maintenance Planner (stream 2) Stream 1: Senior Maintenance Analyst You act as the Team Lead for the Transit Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Analyst team. You strategically assess workforce practices to ensure that they are consistent with industry best practices, and comply with corporate guidelines as well as legislative requirements. You also identify opportunities for operational improvement, provides advice to management to ensure best practices are followed to maximize return on investment, and develop and maintain supplier and business relationships. Stream 2: Senior Maintenance PlannerYou act as the Team Lead for the Transit Fleet Maintenance Planning team. You provide strategic leadership across day and evening shifts to ensure consistent, efficient, and system-wide execution of bus maintenance planning. You coordinate closely with garage planners to manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, optimize resource and workforce allocation, and maintain operational continuity. You lead the development and implementation of standardized maintenance practices across all garage facilities, promote continuous improvement initiatives, and leverage maintenance data to identify trends, enhance planning accuracy, and contribute to the design of an integrated, long-term fleet maintenance strategy.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Completion of 4 year university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and workforce optimization, preferably in an operational environment KNOWLEDGE Economic and statistical analysis and research techniques Business process analysis, ability to develop, coordinate and implement new processes and procedures Market dynamics and their implications on cost, quality and risk Project management techniques Financial management, cost accounting and statistical analysis including year-end analysis, GL reconciliations, data analysis and interpretation of results Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, M5 and other corporate software applications Auditing and compliance review processes and techniques Internal control systems, evaluation and techniques Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Exhibits confidence in self and others and takes action and inspires trust Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to change and improve Leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff Strong research and analysis skills Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities Proficient in spreadsheet, graphics, word processing and data retrieval applications Work within and promote a team environment Excellent facilitation and presentation skills Demonstrated tact, diplomacy and discretion Strong interpersonal and analytical skills Customer service oriented Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Excellent oral and written communication skills Detailed and thorough Ability to maintain positive and harmonious relationships with business partners Core Behaviours Core behaviours define the City's expectations of the behaviours employees should demonstrate in performing their work.
