About your role as a Casual On-Call Community Support Worker: As an integral part of the Community Living Team, you will support the quality of life for the persons served by ensuring that their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs are met. You will also participate in the implementation of all aspects of the participants' program, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy. You will assist residents to live successfully in group settings such as group homes and ensure that their needs are met. You will also help enhance the residents’ quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills. What you will bring: Enthusiasm, empathy, warmth, and understanding that align with our vision, mission, and values Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support, and teach life skills and self-advocacy skills to participants and families Knowledge of theory, values, and practices in community living including support systems Ability to work effectively with families, staff, volunteers, and organizations Ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team Ability to perform lifts and transfers of clients Effective interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated good time and general management skills Positive role model, including modeling a healthy lifestyle Requirements of the job: A Community Support Worker Certificate, or equivalent education and experience Three months’ experience delivering similar services supporting individuals with disabilities in community settings Valid First Aid and CPR certification Valid Food Safety Certification You will need to have a driver's license, a current and satisfactory criminal record search and driver's abstract, a physician’s health reference, a negative TB test Experience using Microsoft Office suite, preferred Hiring Incentive Join our team and receive a $500 hiring incentive when you successfully complete your three-month probationary period, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Additional information: Applicants must provide at least one written professional reference from a previous supervisor or manager. Exigences

Requires a Community Support Worker Certificate or equivalent experience, along with valid First Aid, CPR, and Food Safety certifications. Candidates must possess a driver's license and be able to obtain a Class 4 license and a satisfactory criminal record check.
