Position Type: Permanent Part-Time (Potential for Full-Time with additional skill sets) Anticipated Gym Launch: Winter 2026/2027 About Us: We are a new bouldering gym currently under construction in Langley, BC near the Willowbrook Mall. Your Role As the Head Setter, you will oversee all route-setting operations, including managing our setting team. You will be responsible for building our setting program from the ground up to provide an inclusive, inspiring, challenging and safe climbing environment for climbers of all ages and abilities. The Head Setter reports to the owners during the pre-opening phase and then to the Gym Manager once the gym is open. Setting Qualifications Minimum of 2-5 years of commercial route-setting experience, with a strong preference for previous head, assistant head, or competitive setting experience. Strong climbing ability and set comfortably at a V6-V8 level or higher. Solid working knowledge of industry safety standards. Experience with power tools, ladders and working at height. CEC Level 1 or 2 Routesetting Certification (or equivalent) is highly preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before start date). Management and Communication 2+ years of applicable management experience (preferred). Ability to provide constructive feedback and criticism. Excellent listening skills and willingness to accept and respond to feedback. Strong organizational, scheduling and interpersonal skills. Must be highly collaborative and capable of fostering an encouraging setting team environment.
