Responsibilities will include: * Providing outstanding customer service * Ensuring proper meat preparation is achieved and maintained * Performing duties such as traying, wrapping, and pricing to Meat Department standards * Filling and merchandising the fresh case, frozen case, smoked case and all spot islands are to department standards * Receiving, inspecting and storing merchandise when assigned * Assisting in preparing instore made products such as sausage, hamburger patties, etc. * Adhering to all Evergreen Co-op safety policies and procedures * Adhering to all food safety policies and practices * Performing any other duties as assigned We are ideally seeking candidates with the following qualifications: * Self motivated, reliable, responsible, friendly and hard working * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Previous food preparation/meat experience is an asset * Raw food handling is an asset * Commitment to Co-operative values and principles * Sense of urgency, and customer first attitude * Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting of up to 50Ibs unassisted * Ability to work in cool and damp environments As part of Evergreen Co-operative Association’s hiring process, pre-employment background checks will be required for all candidates.
