Deck Utility - Utilitaire de Pont

## **Position Summary** The Deck Utility is to carry out all tasks as directed by the deck officers of the vessel. All duties relating to the maintenance of the deck, line-handling, slip-assist lines, cargo transfers and Watchkeeping duties. ## **Main Responsibilities** - Assisting in the safe docking of the vessel, which includes line-handling. - Performing navigational watches - General maintenance (painting/chipping and cleaning) as directed by Chief Officer. - Must exhibit the ability to work alone without supervision yet maintain compliance with all safety policies. - Must possess good communication skills. ## **Minimum Qualifications** - The Deck Utility must hold the following minimum qualifications - Bridge Watch Rating (BWR, STCW 95 II/4). - MED with respect to STCW basic safety; MED training with respect to proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats. - Marine Basic First Aid. - Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties - Oil Tanker Familiarization - A valid Passport and Marine Medical - Eligible to enter the US ## **Additional Qualifications** - Occupational Health and Safety. - Oil Spill Response. - Accident/Hazard Investigation training. - Hazard Prevention - Burning/Welding
