The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Job Summary CMI is looking for a Parts Clerk to join our Maintenance Team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring maintenance personnel have the right parts, materials, and supplies available to maximize equipment uptime and plant productivity. Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming maintenance parts, equipment, and supplies. Maintain an organized, clean, and secure maintenance parts storeroom. Issue parts, tools, and consumables to maintenance personnel and accurately record inventory transactions. Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for critical spare parts. Monitor inventory and initiate purchase requisitions for replenishment of stock. Coordinate with Procurement to obtain quotations, place orders, and expedite deliveries from suppliers. Track backordered items and communicate delivery status to the maintenance team. Maintain accurate inventory records using the CMMS and inventory management systems. Perform regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts. Identify obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper storage and preservation of bearings, motors, hydraulic components, electrical parts, belts, chains, lubricants, fasteners, and other maintenance materials. Maintain supplier information, part numbers, equipment bills of materials, and OEM documentation. Support preventive maintenance planning by ensuring required parts are available before scheduled work. Coordinate warranty returns and repairable component tracking. Assist with emergency breakdown parts sourcing to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and environmental requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, reduce costs, and improve maintenance efficiency. Qualifications: College diploma in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Business, Mechanical Technology, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Parts Clerk, Stores Person, Inventory Coordinator, or Maintenance Stores Clerk in an industrial environment. Experience in manufacturing, metal recycling, mining, steel, aggregates, or other heavy industrial environments is considered an asset. Working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical spare parts. Experience with CMMS and inventory management software Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while supporting multiple maintenance personnel and departments. Forklift certification is considered an asset or willingness to obtain certification. Valid Ontario driver's license is considered an asset.
