INTRODUCTION: Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Your commitment to serving the needs of our clients and employees will encourage client and employee loyalty and enhance our organization’s success. WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Ensure access control is followed and client property is secured Monitor CCTV equipment Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment Respond to alarms and utilization of alarm panels Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary Ensure that the reception desk is monitored when not on patrol Must be able to use electronic gadgets like cellphone, laptop etc. Competently investigate suspicious activity, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations Communicate with operations/dispatch/mobile supervisor and co-workers Record inspection findings in a concise factual manner Ability to enforce the Trespass to Property Act when needed Ensure strict access control. Check IDs, sign in clients, visitors, and contractors Complete the site reporting requirements Respond to emergencies and building alarms (e.g. elevator entrapments, medical emergencies, etc.) Provide escort to departments/buildings on site Backup for the Card Access Office Ensure all CGL Policies and Procedures are maintained and followed Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are followed and maintained Conduct Roving Exterior and Interior building roving patrols. Exigences
Candidates must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License and a WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate. Additionally, they must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, which requires 10 years of residency in Canada and a clean background.
