INTRODUCTION: Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Your commitment to serving the needs of our clients and employees will encourage client and employee loyalty and enhance our organization’s success. WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Ensure access control is followed, and client property is secured Operate a truck gate, including managing vehicle flow and performing duties in all weather conditions Escort visitors as required Monitor CCTV equipment Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels Assist employees, clients, and visitors Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment Must be able to rotate between East and South gates Complete daily logs and reports as necessary Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US: MUST have Ontario Security Guard License MUST have a valid First Aid and CPR certificate MUST have access to personal vehicle, this will be used for patrol duties; mileage will be reimbursed MUST have full G class license Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Strong understanding of computers and security related principles Ability to stand/sit for long periods Must be able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion Must be able to make quick, sound decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision Must be able to work alone while maintaining a high level or service to the client is essential Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform in stressful situations WHAT WE OFFER YOU: Medical and Dental Employee assistance program Family assistance program Coaching and counselling support WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU: Rate of Pay: $20.18 per hour Working Hours: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday (1900 - 0700hrs) Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday (1900 - 0700hrs) Location: 400 Chisholm Drive, Milton, Ontario WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR COMMSSIONAIRES: As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
