INTRODUCTION: Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. POSITION SUMMARY Job type: Security/Access Control Reports to: Site Supervisor/Regional Manager Anticipated start date: 1 October 2026 Hourly Rate of Pay: $33.10 per hour Hours of work: 1900-0700 (12 Hours)(Paid Meal Breaks) Shifts: Continual Shifts (7 shifts per pay period) Location: 185 Thistle Trail, Kirkfield, Ontario Accessible by Transit: NO RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment Maintain effective communication Respond to calls for assistance Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors Regular foot patrols outside in all weather conditions Make sure the entry into the work site is always monitored Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor Required Education, Qualifications and Experience: Valid Ontario Security Guard License Valid First Aid and CPR certificate Ability to obtain a Level I Reliability Security Clearance (5 years of Residency in Canada; clear credit and criminal background). The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols outside in rural areas in all weather conditions.
