What You'll Do Lead with Purpose * Coordinate services for a caseload of ~25 preschool-aged children, developing and delivering Individual Program Plans (IPPs) tailored to each child’s strengths and needs. * Partner with families and early learning professionals to create a meaningful, inclusive learning journey for each child. Empower Through Collaboration * Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (SLPs, OTs, PTs, Family Support Workers, etc.) to provide integrated support in educational. * Provide direct consultation and coaching to Educational Assistants (EAs) and early learning teams during program visits. Make Every Visit Count * Plan and conduct impactful program visits (typically 2 per month per child) to observe, assess, model strategies, and collect data in collaboration with the EA. * Design engaging activities and resources to support each child’s development goals. Communicate * Facilitate family-centered IPP meetings and ensure updates, transitions, and planning are clearly documented and shared. * Liaise with outside agencies and school partners to ensure continuity of care and support. Support and Supervise * Mentor and supervise your assigned EAs — offering guidance, feedback, and coaching to help them shine in their roles. * Promote inclusive practices and build strong relationships between families, EAs, and early learning site staff. Contribute, Learn, Grow Depending on your interests and organizational needs, you may also: * Lead workshops or presentations for families and professionals * Contribute to EA training and onboarding * Represent Community Options in external events or conferences * Participate in internal committees, staff meetings, and professional development What You Bring * Bachelor of Education and a valid Alberta teaching certificate (interim or permanent) * Experience in early childhood education, ideally with diverse learners * A passion for inclusive education and supporting children with developmental needs * Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to engage physically with young children (kneeling, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs, and occasionally running if needed) * A commitment to child safety and privacy, including: * Up-to-date Child Intervention Record Check and Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector * Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance * Certification in Child Care First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) Why Join Community Options? The Coordinating Teacher will manage a caseload of preschool-aged children by developing Individual Program Plans and providing direct consultation to educational assistants. They will also facilitate family-centered meetings, mentor staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure inclusive support.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education and a valid Alberta teaching certificate. Experience in early childhood education and the ability to perform physical tasks related to child care are required.
