We Invite Applications For The Temporary Position Of 1.0 FTE Online Learning Physical Health Education 10-12, Careers 10-12 Teacher Please note this temporary position will end on June 30, 2027 or upon return of the incumbent. First day of the assignment is August 31, 2026 with 5 days being banked to use later in the year. NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School. The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment Experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of Physical Health Education within an online learning environment at the secondary school level Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators Experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s Our educational team is committed to engaging learners to develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and social competencies. The teacher will deliver personalized online courses in Physical Health Education and Careers for grades 10-12 using diverse instructional technology. Responsibilities include developing online curriculum and providing both virtual and in-person tutorial support to students.

Candidates must have certification and direct experience teaching in an online learning environment at the secondary level. Proficiency in LMS platforms and experience with Assessment for Learning (AFL) practices are required.
