Division: Vancouver Radio Work Status: Part-Time Location: Vancouver, BC (On-site) About the Role: Legendary Rock 101 is looking for a Part-Time Announcer to join one of Canada's most iconic and influential rock stations. Reporting to the Program Director, you're a dynamic storyteller and entertainer who knows how to connect with audiences on-air, online, and in the community. You live and breathe great content, thrive on authentic listener engagement, and have a strong understanding of the conversations, trends, and stories that matter to our audience. You're passionate about the West Coast lifestyle, deeply knowledgeable about rock music and culture, and know how to create memorable moments that keep listeners coming back. Whether it's a compelling break, a great social post, or an unforgettable interaction with a listener, you understand how to build meaningful connections across multiple platforms. Experience in a medium or major market is an asset, but what matters most is your ability to stand out, entertain, and leave a lasting impression every time you're behind the microphone. You will contribute by: Hosting and technically producing a multi-hour, live on-air show on weekends and during staff vacation coverage Collaborating with the Program Director (or designate) on show development and creative direction Researching, creating, and delivering compelling, shareable content to grow audience engagement both on-air and online Demonstrating a strong understanding of PPM methodology and how content drives ratings Interacting live and spontaneously with guests, co-hosts, and listeners Understanding our audience and how they consume and engage with radio Ensuring compliance with CBSC and CRTC regulations both on-air and online Adhering to commercial log requirements and execution Leading social media initiatives related to the show Voicing commercials, station IDs, and promos as needed Skills and experience you will bring: Post-secondary education in broadcasting, journalism, marketing, or equivalent relevant experience Prior on-air radio experience (required) Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with tools such as Vox-Pro, WideOrbit, and Burli (an asset) A natural, dynamic presence with the ability to think on your feet and entertain A disciplined approach to show prep and storytelling Creativity and confidence in producing content across digital and social platforms A relatable personality that connects with the Rock 101 audience and reflects their lifestyle A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit, you’re a team player who contributes to a great culture Application Deadline: Oct 1, 2026 When applying, please include your resume, cover letter, and a URL link to your demo.
