Résumé du poste
Product Manager Company: Corvita Biomedical Inc. Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada - Hybrid Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Experience Level: New Graduate to Early Career (0-3 years; relevant co-op or internship required) Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Start Date: Immediate About Corvita Biomedical Corvita Biomedical Inc. is a medical technology startup on a mission to transform neonatal and perinatal healthcare globally. We are developing the ARK Incubator, a new generation of intelligent neonatal care technology designed around the needs of premature infants, clinicians, hospitals, and care organizations. By combining medical-device engineering, advanced monitoring, and human-centred design, we are working to make high-quality neonatal care more accessible and scalable. The Opportunity We are seeking an early-career Product Manager to help translate Corvita's vision for the ARK Incubator into a product that clinicians can use, hospitals can adopt, and partners can support. You will help define product priorities, understand customer and clinical needs, coordinate cross-functional execution, and keep the product roadmap connected to evidence from the market. This is first and foremost a product management position. Because Corvita is an early-stage startup, the Product Manager will also support selected business development activities, including customer discovery, clinical relationship strategy, pricing and business-case analysis, proposals, pilots, and strategic partnerships. These activities exist to strengthen product decisions and commercialization; they do not replace a dedicated sales or customer success function. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with Engineering, Clinical, Quality and Regulatory, Sales, and Customer Success. Sales and Customer Success will own routine hospital communication, follow-up, onboarding, and account support. The Product Manager will join selected strategic conversations when product requirements, pilot design, pricing, procurement, partnership structure, or executive alignment are involved. Role emphasis: Product management is the core mandate. Business development is a supporting responsibility that brings customer, clinical, and commercial insight into the product roadmap. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Roadmap - Core Responsibility Translate the CEO's vision and company priorities into a clear product strategy, roadmap, milestones, and decision points for the ARK Incubator. Define target users, clinical workflows, priority use cases, product requirements, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with clinical and technical teams. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, balancing customer value, patient and clinician needs, technical feasibility, regulatory considerations, timing, and company resources. Prepare concise product briefs and decision memos that make trade-offs, assumptions, risks, and recommended actions clear to the team. Monitor competing technologies, customer workflows, and market developments to identify opportunities and risks for the product. Customer & Clinical Discovery Plan and conduct structured discovery with neonatologists, nurses, hospital management, biomedical engineering, IT and privacy teams, procurement, finance, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders. Observe and document real clinical and purchasing workflows, underlying needs, adoption barriers, and decision criteria rather than relying only on stated feature requests. Translate interviews, site visits, pilot feedback, and market research into validated product insights, user requirements, workflow maps, and priority recommendations. Create stakeholder maps and feedback loops so the product team understands who uses, influences, approves, purchases, supports, and maintains the ARK Incubator. Business Development Support Support the CEO in developing strategies for priority hospitals, health systems, NGOs, clinical partners, research collaborators, distributors, and other strategic organizations. Prepare selected meetings by developing stakeholder briefs, product narratives, agendas, questions, presentation materials, and clear follow-up actions. Join high-value customer and partner discussions when product, pricing, pilot, procurement, partnership, or executive-level input is required. Contribute to pricing, packaging, pilot structures, total-cost-of-ownership analyses, return-on-investment cases, proposals, RFI/RFP responses, and procurement materials. Support partnership and channel opportunities, including pilot scopes, memoranda of understanding, and distributor discussions, while keeping commitments consistent with product and operational reality. Read commercial documents carefully, summarize business implications, identify issues that require attention, and coordinate formal legal review with counsel when needed. Legal training is not required. Provide Sales and Customer Success with product guidance, account strategy, value propositions, objection-handling support, and accurate product updates while they retain ownership of routine customer communication. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree completed or near completion in engineering, business, commerce, health sciences, life sciences, industrial design, economics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. An advanced degree, professional designation, or formal legal qualification is not required. Professional Experience New graduates and early-career candidates with approximately 0-3 years of full-time experience are encouraged to apply. At least one relevant co-op, internship, or substantial student role is required in product management, medical technology, healthcare, engineering, business development, strategy, consulting, clinical innovation, or a startup environment. Evidence of owning a meaningful project, gathering input from different stakeholders, and turning unclear information into a structured recommendation, plan, prototype, or deliverable. A previous Product Manager title is not required. Core Competencies Strong product thinking: listens carefully, identifies the underlying problem, prioritizes trade-offs, and keeps the user and intended outcome in view. Structured problem-solving and analytical ability, including comfort with spreadsheets, presentations, research, and basic commercial or financial analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to work with clinicians, engineers, executives, buyers, partners, and other stakeholders. Strong organization, judgment, discretion, and follow-through across multiple workstreams and deadlines. Curiosity, humility, and willingness to learn the clinical, technical, regulatory, and commercial realities of building a medical device. Comfort working directly with a CEO and operating in a fast-moving startup with limited structure. What We Offer Impact & Purpose Meaningful responsibility in building a product intended to improve neonatal care and expand access to advanced technology. The opportunity to see how product decisions affect clinicians, hospitals, partners, and ultimately infant care. Growth & Development Direct mentorship and close collaboration with the CEO, founders, clinicians, engineers, advisors, and external partners. Broad exposure to product management, medical-device development, clinical workflows, commercialization, pricing, procurement, and partnerships. A path to grow into a Senior Product Manager or Product Lead role as the company and product organization scale. Innovation & Autonomy Real ownership early in your career without requiring an unrealistic number of years of experience. Freedom to build practical product systems, research methods, and playbooks that become part of how Corvita operates. The opportunity to help shape the product function from an early stage. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Comprehensive health and dental benefits package. Flexible hybrid work arrangement. Join Our Mission Premature and critically ill newborns depend on timely access to safe, high-quality neonatal care. Corvita is building the ARK Incubator so hospitals and care organizations can deliver more integrated, intelligent, and accessible care. As Product Manager, you will help ensure the ARK is not only engineered well, but also shaped by real clinical needs, introduced responsibly, and prepared for adoption at scale. How to Apply Please submit the following to [email protected]: Resume/CV A short response of no more than 250 words describing a user, customer, clinical, or business problem you helped structure and solve. Examples from a co-op, internship, capstone, or student project are welcome. Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Corvita Biomedical Inc. is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, including those from underrepresented groups. We are committed to providing accommodation for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
