*Job Overview* We are seeking a friendly and efficient *Barista* to join our café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee, beverages and light food, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail math, and POS systems within a vibrant café setting. Prior experience in coffee or food industry environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure your success. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK LABOUR DAY WEEKEND. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS *Duties* * Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using proper techniques * Operate POS systems such as Light Speed for order processing and cash handling * Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards * Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities * Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety standards * Assist with food preparation and food safety protocols as needed * Restock supplies and ensure the café is organized and inviting * Engage with customers to create a positive experience, promoting sales of products and specials * Follow health regulations related to food handling and serving *Experience* * Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided * Familiarity with POS systems * Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers * Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing sales transactions * Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently * Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation, and serving protocols is advantageous Join our team to craft quality beverages while providing outstanding service in a dynamic café environment.
