Our work sits between business and the public interest, between the evolving demands of industry and the standards that make trust possible. Careers built here tend to look different because the work itself is different. You are not simply contributing to an organization. You are helping shape a profession that touches nearly every sector of the economy at a moment when expectations, technology, and the nature of work are all being rewritten. About This Opportunity: CPA Ontario is seeking an Event Specialist to lead the full life cycle of planning and executing in-person, hybrid, and virtual events that strengthen member engagement, build community, and enhance our brand. You will bring strategic vision and innovative ideas to design events that are impactful, creative, and seamless in execution. Reporting to the Conference and Events Manager you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and event agencies to deliver experiences that are both memorable and measurable. What You’ll Be Doing: * Leading the end-to-end planning and execution of high-impact events with a focus on strategic design, innovation, and audience engagement. * Partnering with stakeholders and agencies to design event formats that enhance member engagement, build community, and strengthen brand awareness, while measuring and reporting on outcomes. * Overseeing logistics for in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, including venue, catering, production, and vendor management to ensure flawless execution. * Managing event technologies (registration, streaming, engagement platforms) and serving as the technical lead during virtual and hybrid events. * Tracking budgets, timelines, and event KPIs, conducting post-event debriefs, and introducing creative ideas to continuously improve future events. To Be Successful You Need: * Equipped with a degree or diploma in Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field; CMP designation preferred or in progress. * Experienced with 5+ years in event and/or conference planning, including strategic design, attendee engagement, and logistics. * Experienced in using event platforms (e.g., Cvent, EventMobi, RingCentral, Slido, Zoom, Streamyard, vMix) and knowledgeable in AV, staging, and production requirements. * Proficient in project management and collaboration, with the ability to build trusted relationships across stakeholders, vendors, and executives. * Recognized for organization, attention to detail, and sound judgement in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Salary Range * The starting annual salary range for this position is between $66,300 - $82,900 per annum, based on your qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review. Why Join CPA Ontario? * We support your well-being through industry-leading benefits, mental health resources, savings programs, and a sustainable approach to how work gets done. * We are committed to inclusion as a core part of how we operate, not as an afterthought. * We have a hybrid working environment, with three days a week on-site, complemented by 2 days of work-from-home time. We are intentional about that: the work we do benefits from being together. We want those days you work from home to be comfortable and offer a one-time bonus towards a home office when you start. * We invest in your growth through learning and professional development opportunities, stretch projects, secondments, and genuine paths for career progression. * We move quickly. The pace reflects the profession we serve; it can be demanding, but the work matters, and the team around you is invested in the same outcomes you have.
