Human Resources Generalist

HR Generalist – Manufacturing (Unionized Environment) Location: 40 minutes drive West of Kitchener, ON (Onsite) Overview We are seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to join a manufacturing facility in a unionized environment. This role will support day-to-day HR operations, working closely with leadership and employees on the floor. You’ll be the key HR point of contact for the site, handling everything from employee relations to recruitment and payroll support. This is a standalone HR position where you will act as the primary HR contact for the entire facility. Key Responsibilities Provide HR support in a unionized environment, including interpreting and applying collective agreements Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, discipline, and conflict resolution Support full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles Assist with payroll processing and administration using UKG (Kronos) Maintain and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment standards and labour laws Partner with leadership on performance management, attendance, and workforce planning Support onboarding, training coordination, and employee engagement initiatives Maintain accurate HR records and reporting Qualifications 2-3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment Strong experience working in a unionized setting (must-have) Hands-on experience with UKG / Kronos or similar HRIS/payroll systems is nice to have Solid understanding of employment legislation and labour relations Strong communication and problem-solving skills Able to support a standalone HR position where you will act as the primary HR contact for the entire facility.

The HR Generalist will provide HR support in a unionized environment, managing employee relations, recruitment, and payroll processing. This role will also involve maintaining HR policies and partnering with leadership on various HR initiatives.

Candidates should have 2-3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong experience in a unionized setting. A solid understanding of employment legislation and hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll systems is preferred.
