Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Purchaser – Electrical (High-Rise & Commercial) Location: Vaughan ON -Onsite role Overview: Our General contractor client is seeking an experienced Purchaser with a strong background in high-rise and commercial construction. This role is critical in managing procurement for electrical, mechanical sytems such as HVAC ,fire alarm, and security systems projects. You’ll be working closely with project managers, site teams, and vendors to ensure materials are delivered on time, on budget, and meet project specs. Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end purchasing of materials and equipment for electrical construction projects Source and procure electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, hVAC, and mechanical components Work closely with Project Managers and Estimators to understand project requirements and timelines Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and vendors Track orders, ensure timely delivery, and resolve any supply chain issues Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing databases, and vendor lists Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with site teams to avoid shortages or delays Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines Requirements: 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in electrical construction MUST have experience in high-rise and commercial projects Strong knowledge of: Electrical systems and components Mechanical systems related to construction Experience working with electrical contractors or construction companies is mandatory Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environme

The Senior Procurement Specialist will manage the end-to-end purchasing of materials and equipment for electrical construction projects. This includes sourcing and procuring various electrical and mechanical systems while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.

Candidates must have 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in electrical construction, specifically in high-rise and commercial projects. Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, along with negotiation and vendor management skills, is essential.
